I Got the Parking Lot Blues
I know that parking lot.
Not because I've been there.
Because I've heard it.
The hum of an engine that's just been turned off.
The click of a seatbelt.
A long, slow exhale.
Then...
"I've only got about ten minutes before I have to go inside."
I can't tell you how many wonderful conversations have begun exactly that way.
Sometimes the most important part of someone's day happens before they ever open the car door.
The World Can Wait Five More Minutes

We all wear different hats.
Employee.
Boss.
Husband.
Father.
Caretaker.
Problem solver.
Sometimes those roles become so loud that we forget what our own voice sounds like.
That's why I never mind when someone calls me from a parking lot.
For a little while...
Nothing needs to be fixed.
No one needs anything from you.
You don't have to impress me.
You can simply be yourself.
The Stories We Share
I've heard about first dates and last dates.
Fishing trips that got rained out.
Classic cars that should have been sold years ago.
The roses someone planted for a wife they still miss.
A pair of cowboy boots that have somehow survived thirty years.
A little dog waiting at home.
A promotion.
A resignation.
The first time someone admitted they found beautifully cared-for feet fascinating.
Life has a funny way of arriving in pieces.
Sometimes all it takes is someone willing to listen while those pieces find their place.
Before You Walk Back Inside
One gentleman once laughed and said...

"You're becoming part of my drive home."
I don't think he realized how much that touched me.
Because that's exactly what Wildflower Whispers has become for so many people.
Not an escape from life.
A gentle bridge back into it.
A place where your shoulders soften.
Your breathing slows.
Your smile returns.
Then, when you're ready...
You open the car door.
And somehow the day feels a little lighter.
Maybe We All Need a Porch
I often imagine my porch while we're talking.
The lavender swaying in the breeze.
The old rocking chair creaking softly.
A glass of iced tea sweating in the afternoon sun.
Even if you're sitting in a crowded office parking lot or outside the grocery store, I hope my voice helps you feel like you've stepped somewhere quieter.
Somewhere kinder.
Somewhere you can simply exist for a little while.
Maybe that's what a porch really is.
Not a place.
A feeling.

Until Next Time...
Eventually, every call reaches that familiar moment.
"Alright... I guess I should head in."
I never rush it.
Sometimes we laugh one more time.
Sometimes there's a comfortable silence.
Sometimes I simply tell you...
"Go have a good day. I'll be here when you need another little break."
And off you go.
Back to meetings.
Back to responsibilities.
Back to the beautiful, messy business of living.
But maybe...
Just maybe...
You'll carry a little bit of our conversation with you.
I hope you do.
A Gentle Invitation
If you've ever sat in your car for a few extra minutes before heading into work, before walking through your front door, or before facing whatever the day had waiting for you...
I understand.
Sometimes we all need a soft place to land.
When that moment comes, I'd love to keep you company.
Find me through Wildflower Whispers.
I'll save you a seat on my porch... even if you're parked three states away.
